Sharon Lee has a story to tell and a tapestry to weave. The story is her own, and the tapestry is made of the experiences in her life, but the picture that quickly emerges through the Bible, music and sharing is that of the face of Jesus Christ. It is Christ that is central to Sharon’s life, and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Sharon’s early years are the key to her personal blessings and the story she tells. From playing and singing in country bands at an early age, to her marriage to her high school sweetheart, and the son they have together, it’s a story filled with the peaks and valleys of the Southern Indiana hills. However, it was in these valleys that Sharon discovered Jesus Christ.
Sharon was raised in church, and was sincere in her devotion to religion. However, she had never learned to walk in God’s power, nor entrusted her life fully in an intimate relationship with Him. As an adult, Sharon began to face multiple difficulties which totally turned her life upside down. In the midst of a life that looked good on the outside, but was falling apart on the inside, Jesus came to her and transformed her walk into one that is personal, intimate, and joyful. Sharon gave her whole life to Jesus Christ. As a result, her life was blessed personally, and the ministry she has today is a result of her walk with the Lord and Him giving the overcoming power to walk out of her major crisis.
Sharon was trained for ministry through Bible Study Fellowship, studying with them for 5 years. She also completed 3 years of the Institute of Theology by Extension out of Des Moines, Iowa. Sharon has been involved with her local church, serving as an elder and lay-leader for many years under Dr. Steven Grant at Voice for Christ in Rushville, Indiana. Currently she leads worship and is involved in leadership at Shelbyville Community Church in Shelbyville, Indiana under the direction of senior pastor Brad Davis. She is highly regarded as a teacher, mentor, worship leader and group leader. She has attended “Bibleway Church Ministry School” for addition teaching for a fresh fire in ministry as an ordained minister. She currently serves in CMA Christian Motorcyclists Association as a chaplain for the shelbyville chapter and goes to men and women prisons to minister and sing to prisoners.
Sharon has also led worship for Emmaus Walks for several years, leading worship and providing prayer counseling and support. She formerly was president of an Aglow International lighthouse in Greensburg, Indiana, and continues to participate in both church and parachurch ministry. Whether it is speaking, teaching, intercessory prayer, singing, or sharing one-on-one, Sharon’s passion for Christ changes lives!
Sharon’s current adventure with God has enabled her to team up with a talented group of musicians and writers to record a CD in Nashville, Tennessee. This project was available in 2005, and is highly anticipated. She did another project in 2007 composed of contempory worship. Sharon handles the Word and the guitar quite well, and her vocal talents are excellent besides.
On the personal side Sharon and her husband Steve of 33 years, enjoy serving the Lord together. They have one grown son Nicholas and his wife Brianne and enjoy family activities, including camping, boating, biking and traveling together.
